5 Reasons to Work on Your Posture
Poor posture is a common problem for many people. It can have a significant impact on your health, both physical and mental. Studies have shown that sitting up straight and holding yourself confidently increases self-esteem and improves moods while reducing stress levels. This is because when we slouch, our bodies assume a less confident position which sends signals to our brain telling us that something isn’t right – leading us to feel anxious or stressed out!

For example, slouching restricts our ability to take deep breaths, which means we’re not getting enough oxygen into our lungs – leading us to feel tired or sluggish throughout the day! When we sit up straighter, however, we open up our chest cavity, allowing us to take deeper breaths, boosting oxygen flow throughout our bodies, giving us more energy and improving our overall health!

Poor posture doesn’t just affect how we look – it affects how we move too! Sitting or standing with poor form for long periods puts unnecessary strain on our joints and muscles, leading to long-term problems, such as joint degeneration or chronic muscle tightness/tension if left unchecked for too long. Bad posture has also been associated with conditions such as scoliosis, which needs intense treatment from a specialised scoliosis clinic to help correct the spinal curvature. By working on your posture, you can avoid these potential health issues and help keep your musculoskeletal system healthy!
