How To Enjoy A Sunday Afternoon At Greenland Quay
It’s been a while since I’ve taken off on a Sunday stroll. Thankfully the pleasant weather in London has arrived so we can venture out and explore the city a bit more. It felt like we had been hibernating for so long. If you happen to be in London or are visiting, be sure to check out Greenland Quay in south London and discover how to enjoy a Sunday afternoon at Greenland Quay.
There are various ways to get there:
By Bike
I discovered Greenland’s Quay during the lockdown of 2020 when we were able to exercise outdoors with a family or a household member. We chose cycling as our form of exercise and haven’t looked back since. If anything it has made us crave more for cycling. You can access the area by bike via cycle lanes.
By foot
.
By river
Tour the area and explore the Thames via Thames Clipper, Dockland’s ferry, Uber boat or by foot. Why should you go for a walk around Greenland Quay? Sunday afternoon is a brilliant time to clear your head ready for the upcoming week and the area is a breeze. If you have a local area similar to this venue in your town, city or country, then it’s worth a try.
Additionally, it’s a good way to connect with nature, that is the river and the greenery
The Thames clippers stopping service also operates during the weekend and evenings.
Dockland’s ferry
Bikes are permitted on the Dockland’s ferry and you are almost guaranteed a seat.
But remember to get a valid ticket before you travel.
Uber boat
The Uber boat is a fun way to explore London and you can even take your bike on board.
A cheaper and convenient way to purchase your ticket is via Uber app here
alternatively, visit a ticket Office or ticket Machine.
You can easily board an Uber Boat from Greenland (Surrey Quays) Pier which will take you to the
Embankment, Westminster, Milbank, London Eye, Tower and North Greenwich.
Thankfully the piers and boats are wheelchair accessible.
Benefits of visiting in Greenland’s Quay
Explore boat houses, get away from the crowds and connect with nature.
Have you visited Greenland’s Quay or would like to visit the area? Drop me a line or two as always.
What a great way to spend a sunny day. Being around the water is always uplifting and with so much activity to see, it would make for excellent people-watching. Of course, it also looks like a great spot to observe waterfowl, as well.
Being around water is somehow therapeutic and a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
