This Is The Best Way To Enjoy A Trip To Amalfi In A Nutshell
My trip to Amalfi in 2019 before the lockdown was memorable and short. Travelling in a group meant we could talk about our experiences, analyse each trip and make the next one even more structured. This is the best way to enjoy a trip to Amalfi.
This is more of a picture post with tips but read to the end.
The Amalfi is well known for its limoncello, pizza, olives, stunning views and more. So, the first thing to do once you arrive at your accommodation is to look for a nearby grocery store for those essentials. Trust me, you will save some Euros.
Visit markets for bargain hunting and avoid paying high tourist prices for goods.
Go on tours and evening strolls to get a feel of Amalfi. We visited Pompeii in sweltering 40 degrees.
Swim in the sea in Positano or relax at the beach and soak up the beautiful scenery. I must say that the swimming in the sea in Positano was one of my best experiences as the water was calm.
Where is Amalfi coast?
Amalfi coast is situated south of the Bay of Naples, and you can get there via Naples airport.
I recommend getting a coach from outside the airport to experience some breath-taking views. We found the view of the cliffside and winding roads unforgettable. It seemed like most of the roads were built on the cliffs.
One of our favourable experiences was our visit to Pompeii then moving on to Mount Vesuvius, the volcano. But we didn’t climb up to the crater due to the heat. The best way to enjoy a visit to the mountain is to go when the temperature is much cooler. Having said that, some members of our party reached the peak.
In terms of affordability always shop around for family friendly restaurants and affordable shops. You don’t need to shop like a celebrity unless you want to as the region is well known for to the wealthy.
Have you been to Amalfi? What did you enjoy most? Drop me a line or two as always.
What a delightful excursion you have taken us on. The photos help us feel like we are part of the action. We especially love the picturesque view of the terraced buildings in Positano.
Those picturesque view of the terraced buildings are attractive to look at. It is somehow addictive.
I loved visiting Amalfi, Positano and beyond, it really is a stunning region and the food sooooo amazing.
I found the locals quite friendly and yes the food was delicious.
